Keep on exploring

It has been a very odd week as I have been ’resting’ after the Half-Ironman and recharging. But now that’s done and I’m back :)) What did ’resting’ mean to me this week? Actually as you would imagine, no workouts although loads of walking, exploring and adventurs.

This has been a great weekend – midsummer – with all the best pieces of summer. Sun, warmth, bbq, friends, family, walks, flowers, food, exploration and relax.

I was back to an area of Sweden, Höga Kusten, that I haven’t visited for a couple of years and this time saw it from a completely different side – sea side.

The 3km walk ended up being a 12 km hike :)) Never mind as the sun was warm and the views breathtaking.

Btw, did you know that even here in northern Sweden there are carnivorous plants? Apparently 12 different spices, amazing!

sites/default/files/IMG_8819.JPG One of the islands we visited is the home town of Surströmming – Fermented Herring. Unfortunately the season has not started yet (maybe I was lucky) and there were no to get a hold on. I wanted to try it as it should be eaten – klämma – in a soft flat bread, with fine chopped red onion, sliced new potatoes, creme freish and dill or chive. NOT buying a can to make one by my self! :))

Back home now with loads of new energy and ready for the week/weeks to come!
